Course Overview
Successful completion of this course will equip you to take on an emergency response role or enhance competence in your current area of responsibility. Our Fire Emergency Response Team Member course combines both theoretical and practical training skills. The focus is on a measured response to an emergency as part of a team.

Breathing apparatus (introduction, set breakdown and maintenance, Donning and Doffing, Wearing, and Emergency procedures)

Casualty handling (Initial assessment, stretchers, extrication)

Closed containers (B.L.E.V.E., Time Distance & Shielding in respect to ER controls)

Confined spaces (Awareness, Atmosphere Testing, control procedures)

Fixed systems/detection systems

Characteristics of Gas

Hazardous substances (COSHH and Fire Fighting measures)

Hose handling/water protection (Safe use on stairs, extending lines, flame protection, v/v isolations)

Internal firefighting (ventilation techniques, awareness of Flashover / Back Drafts, positive & negative pressure effects)
